2010 Discover Historic Englewood Youth Photo Contest
Winners have been selected from the entries for the 2010 Discover Historic Englewood Youth Photo Contest sponsored by the Elsie Quirk Public Library. Children ages 5-18 were invited to participate and asked to take lots of pictures of historic Englewood buildings or places and then submit three of their favorites. They also needed to provide a brief caption about the historic significance.
Prizes were awarded in two age categories and as part of the 2010 Lemon Bay Fest – Englewood History With Zest Week. All of the winners received a $25 gift card provided by the Englewood Genealogy Society of Florida. Judging was done by members of the Englewood Camera Club, the Englewood Genealogy Society, and the Friends of Elsie Quirk Library.
The winners in the 5-11 age group are Coral Rodriguez-Lipstein, age 7 for "Tom Adams Bridge," and Charlie Dillmore, age 5 for "The Cookie House."
